Future on Stage….

Besides the ranchers and cowboy world in Houston there is a more hidden scene in town. Arts, theaters and a lot of dubbing for Japanese anime movies. Since I am working in the same business in Germany, my ties and collabs are a little deeper into that. So my friends took me to the Neuhaus Theater in downtown Houston, which is a part of the 75 Ally Theater. It was an impressive modern architecture style and a very intimate stage setting. The play was called „AMERIKIN” and the story was truly ahead of the time, I have to admit. About a guy struggling with his dire situation in life, and with high hopes in the far right movement. Today I would say that’s a typical Maga supporter. He wants to be part of a kind of KKK group to fight for better conditions for the white race. He was forced to bring a DNA test to join the group. The devastating news for him with the result is crushing his world… He has a genetic connection to African ancestors. He who thought himself superior is a „Nigger” in his own imagination. He tries to hide it but the end is a crumbling dream, which has come near to reality in our days. The staging was cool, modern and more like a movie, great acting, let me say it matched the architecture and was a great evening out in downtown Houston.

Again it was a great week in Texas, the weather went better, but it was time to prepare for return home via Florida. So off I went to IAH like from the southern parts of Houston you need some time. As usual I was a little ahead of time for my afternoon flight and while waiting two things reminded me of home. First there was this @Lufthansa plane 747-8 Yankee Charlie rolling by, exactly that plane had delivered me to Florida two weeks earlier.

And second, I saw an advert for an Apple TV+ animated show I worked on before. I think there is always something unexpected while traveling that brings home to mind.
